How It Works...

Dogs must be Four (4) months of age or older to begin the program. Call or email to schedule a free evaluation and meet and greet with our director, Norma Ross. During your meeting she will customize a training plan specifically for you and your pet. We use only positive, science-based methods of learning and behavior modification. We know your pet is a member of your family and we love all animals here at Pawsitive Action. Dogs have feelings and emotions and deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Our trainers are the same Pawsitive Action trainers who train all of our service dogs. Our programs are designed for dogs with no training at all or for dogs with basic manners. We do not charge extra for more “difficult” dogs. Beginners welcome for both Training Camps! Proof of vaccinations and a negative fecal examination required.

18 days of Training Camp Program

Included in your dog’s tuition:

  • Free evaluation and plan for training.

  • Training collars, treats, place (raised cot), treat bag, clicker

  • Videos, photos and texts sent daily letting you know how your pet is doing.

  • Basic manners: Sit, Down, Stay, Focus, Come when called, leave it, plus; no barking, biting, chewing or jumping on people, sit nicely to be petted, go to places and walk nice on a leash. Your dog will be working on the skills he will need to become an AKC Canine Good Citizen.

  • Baths as needed. Ear cleaning and nail trim before your dog goes home.

  • Certified Veterinary Tech on property

  • Director lives on the property. 24-hour supervision

  • Video lessons to review when your dog goes home

  • 1-hour lesson after 10 days plus a 2 hour “go home” lesson with your dog’s trainer

  • Playtime and socialization with other friendly pets

  • We can evaluate your pet to see if he/she could potentially become a therapy or service dog

  • 6-week group class for behavior follow-up

  • Certificate of Completion

Deluxe 30 Day Training Camp Program

Why 30 days? It takes a minimum of 25 to 30 days to truly form new habits. Our trainers help eliminate your dog’s poor behaviors and replace them with positive good behaviors.

 

Included in this program:

  • Free evaluation and plan for training. We tailor our training to meet your needs and desires.

  • Evaluate your pet to see if he/she could potentially become a therapy or service dog.

  • We provide training collars, treats, place (raised cot), treat bag, clicker

  • Videos, photos and texts sent daily letting you know how your pet is doing.

  • Basic manners: Sit, Down, Stay, Focus, Come when called, Leave It, plus; no barking, biting, chewing or jumping on people, sit nicely to be petted, go to place and walk nice on a leash. Your dog will be working on the skills he will need to become an AKC Canine Good Citizen.

  • Baths are given as needed. Ear cleaning and nail trim are done before your dog goes home.

  • Certified Veterinary Tech on property. 24-hour on call veterinarian.

  • Director lives on the property. 24-hour supervision

  • Video lessons to review when your dog goes home

  • Your dog will learn how to navigate basic agility obstacles and begin basic “nose work”

  • Nose work engages your dog’s natural ability to locate scent. Great game to play with active dogs!

  • 1-hour private lesson after 10 days plus a 2-hour “go home” lesson with your dog’s trainer

  • Several times a day, playtime and socialization with other friendly pets

  • Trainers are available to bring your dog to your home to reintroduce him/her back into your home environment. (15-mile radius from training center.)

  • Upon completion of 30 day training program you and your dog can attend a 6-week group class for continued training, and behavior follow-up at no additional cost.

  • PAF trainers will take your dog on field trips to public locations allowing us the opportunity to work on your dog’s manners in public

  • Certificate of Completion

  • Your dog will be evaluated for AKC’s Canine Good Citizenship Certification
