Veterinary Assisting Academy
Pawsitive Action Foundation and our Medical Director, Dr. Matt Walter DVM are working in conjunction with the
Harmony High School Veterinary Assisting Program.
The program's goal is to prepare students for certification as a Veterinary Assistant and to provide a good
foundation to those interested in Veterinary and or medical careers.
The program has outstanding facilities including: indoor cat and dog kennel as well as large-dog outdoor kennels.
The animal lab is equipped with three bathing tubs, nine grooming tables, a wet lab and a fully functional surgery
room. With Dr. Walter's expertise the students will have the opportunity to be directly involved in pre and post
surgical procedures through the Veterinary care and spay/neuter program. This brings the classroom learning to
life and gives students the skills and experience needed to further their education. Surgical procedures are only
performed by licensed Veterinarians.
Dr. Mat Walter, DVM has been in private practice for over 10 years. Dr. Walter has been contracted by Osceola
Animal Control for over six years and has conducted
1,500 to 2,000 spay/neuters per year.
